- Always lift on a safe
level area.
- Always use appropriate
lifting equipment.
- Cows often feel groggy and listless when first lifted.
In this case lift them sufficiently off the ground and place their feet in a
proper position to enable them to stand should they wish to try. It is
not uncommon for a cow, either with milk fever or calving paralysis, to hang
listlessly for 10 to15 minutes and then, with a mighty effort, commence
standing, albeit, with the support of the Upsi-Daisy Cow Lifter.
- The cow should never be left in the lifter unattended for
long periods of time. It is recommended the cow be lifted twice
daily for sessions of 40 to 90 minutes. Even if the cow is listless and
uncooperative it is important she be lifted in order for the blood to flow
freely through her legs.
- Often when the lifting session is at an end, as the cow
regains her strength, she may refuse to be placed on the ground and will
struggle to remain standing:
Always when lowering the cow:
A. Place her feet in a proper position to be let down.
B. Reverse the tractor slowly while easing her down gently.

Letting the Calf Drink
The unique design of the Upsi-Daisy Cow lifter allows the calf unhindered
access to the udder.
This will often stimulate a positive
reaction from the cow.

with the front bucket/forks allows the cow to be moved to a cleaner and more
suitable location with no discomfort to the cow.
